WilmerHale is proud to announce that it has achieved Diversity Lab’s 2023-2024 Mansfield Rule Certification Plus status. This recognition reflects the firm’s unwavering commitment to increasing diversity in the legal profession by providing fair and equal opportunity for a diverse pool of candidates to advance into leadership, and enhancing transparency related to leadership roles, advancement processes and compensation policies.
Established during the 2016 Women in Law Hackathon, the Mansfield Rule is overseen by Diversity Lab in partnership with Bloomberg Law and Stanford Law School. Named after Arabella Mansfield, the first woman to enter the legal profession in the United States, the initiative aims at enhancing diversity in law firms. Since its inception in 2018, the firm has consistently achieved Mansfield Certification Plus status, being one of just 26 firms nationwide to complete the inaugural one-year pilot successfully.
The Mansfield Rule Certification Plus status joins a growing list of recognitions WilmerHale has received for its commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal profession. In 2024, the firm has been:
- Earned a 2024 Top Performer and Compass Award by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity;
- Named to Bloomberg Law’s 2024 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Framework;
- Named a Best Law Firm for Women & Diversity by Seramount;
- Named to Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Empowering Women list in 2024;
