Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly has recognized Emily Whelan as a 2022 “Top Woman of Law.” This annual recognition honors women attorneys who have made tremendous professional strides and demonstrated great accomplishments in the legal field, including pro bono, advocacy, social justice and business.
Whelan is a Boston-based partner and chairs the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice group. She has represented innovative pharmaceutical companies in ANDA, biosimilars and other patent litigation, done due diligence and analysis of competitor patents from the medical device field and the food industry and has managed patent portfolios including small molecules, formulations and treatment methods.
“I get to work with companies and scientists in the life sciences field who are doing exciting things, developing therapies for patients and I help them from an IP patent perspective,” Whelan says in her profile.
The “Top Women in Law” event celebrates the achievements and victories of exceptional women attorneys who are pioneers, educators, trailblazers and role models in their field. Whelan and the other honorees, including Laura Schneider, were recognized at an awards ceremony on November 16.
