Rachel Bier is a senior associate who represents clients on a variety of intellectual property litigation matters. Her practice encompasses all phases of civil litigation including pre-suit investigation, fact and expert discovery, motion practice and trial. Ms. Bier has represented clients in patent disputes involving a broad range of technological fields including microprocessor, software, medical diagnostics and agricultural technologies.

In 2023, Ms. Bier served as a special assistant district attorney in the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts. While in that position, she tried numerous cases to both juries and judges and argued over a dozen motions on behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Ms. Bier was previously a summer associate at WilmerHale. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Bier served as a student attorney at Boston University’s Immigrants’ Rights Clinic, where she represented refugees seeking asylum and other immigration relief. She also previously held a legal externship with Justice Barbara Lenk of the Supreme Judicial Court.
