Two WilmerHale Teams Recognized by Litigation Daily

Recognition

WilmerHale received two recognitions in last week’s Litigation Daily Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout-Outs column. Litigation Daily named a WilmerHale team Litigator of the Week Runners-Up for helping client Exelixis Inc. protect the validity of the patents underlying its drugs to treat kidney, liver and thyroid cancers. The case was tried by Partners Lisa Pirozzolo, Kevin Prussia and Amy Wigmore, with critical support provided by Partners Emily Whelan and Marissa Lalli and the full WilmerHale team.

The WilmerHale team representing University of Pennsylvania, which was led by Partner David Gringer, earned a Shout-Out from Litigation Daily for succeeding on a motion to dismiss on behalf of our client the University of Pennsylvania and the other Ivy League institutions in a high-profile antitrust case challenging the Ivy League’s practice of not awarding athletic scholarships. Besides Gringer, the team included Partners Seth Waxman and Alan Schoenfeld, Counsel Thad Eagles, Samuel Strongin, Shelby Martin and Arielle Herzberg, Senior Associates Hannah Gelbort and Ivan Navedo, and Attorney Jenny Cho. This win was one of two victories won by WilmerHale’s antitrust litigators in the span of one week.
