Bill Lee Recognized as One of Boston Business Journal’s “Power 50”

Recognition

Boston-based Partner Bill Lee has once again been named to the Boston Business Journal’s “Power 50” list, which recognizes those who are making an impact on Boston’s economy and business community. The theme behind this year’s list is “Extraordinary Year, Extraordinary People,” and honorees were selected by their peers for making a difference while exhibiting courage, kindness and community impact.

This past year Lee led teams that brought major victories to higher education institutions, including a high-profile victory last fall for Harvard University in the challenge to the use of race in its undergraduate admissions process. He also represented MIT and Harvard University in a challenge to the Trump administration’s directive affecting the ability of international students to study in the US. The directive was rescinded shortly after the suit was filed.

The profile in the Boston Business Journal highlights that Lee was the first Asian-American lawyer at a major Boston law firm and that he previously served as co-managing partner of WilmerHale. He is widely recognized as a go-to litigator and is a global leader of the intellectual property bar. Lee also serves as a Senior Fellow of the Harvard Corporation.

Lee and the Power 50 honorees were recognized at a virtual event hosted by the Boston Business Journal on November 4.
