David Gringer, a Washington-based WilmerHale partner and trial lawyer, was named a Law360 2020 Rising Star for antitrust. Those recognized in the annual feature were selected for their career accomplishments in their respective practice areas.
Mr. Gringer was one of six antitrust attorneys recognized out of 176 attorneys in 38 practice areas overall.
According to Law360, Mr. Gringer’s experience on “both sides of the courtroom, contesting conduct and mergers as a US Department of Justice trial attorney and defending deals in private practice,” cemented a spot for him as one of the top antitrust attorneys under 40.
Law360’s Rising Star feature on Mr. Gringer spotlights some of his most significant cases, including his role on the team that scored a landmark victory in early 2020 by successfully defending the T-Mobile-Sprint merger against state attorneys general who challenged the deal.
For the Law360 profile, Mr. Gringer also described the draw of antitrust work.
"Good lawyering and good storytelling mean a lot in who wins. Because there's enough flexibility in the law to have that really matter. And not every discipline, not every area has that," Gringer said.
