Partner Bill Lee has been selected as a ‘Lawyer of the Year’ by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (MALW) for 2019. Those recognized, according to MALW, were “nominated by colleagues, clients and other legal professionals for being leaders in the community and forward thinkers.”

In addition to the announcement, MALW featured a special profile on Lee, highlighting his substantial experience as a leading trial lawyer, his role as lead trial counsel of Apple Inc. in a previous litigation against Samsung, and associate counsel in the Iran-Contra investigation are among some of the few cases highlighted in this piece. Most notable, however, is his recent representation of Harvard University last year achieving a victory on all counts in a high-profile challenge to the use of race in its undergraduate admissions process.

The featured profile includes a personal interview with Lee, who discusses the decision to take the case to trial and some of the pivotal moments that emerged as a result.
