At this conference, hosted by the Practising Law Institute (PLI), Partner Patrick Carome will participate on the panel "Hot Topics in Communications Law: Section 230, Commercial Speech, and Anti-SLAPP Law." Specifically, he will address whether social media platforms can be sued for "de-platforming" and whether Section 230 protects certain technology companies from product liability suits.
PLI's Communications Law in the Digital Age conference brings together law firm practitioners, in-house counsel, government officials and academics to address new challenges arising from digital and social media, including recent developments in First Amendment, defamation, privacy, intellectual property, news gathering, right of publicity, reporter’s privilege law and more. The program will provide the legal, strategic and practical guidance needed to keep current in these areas of law and technology.
