Please join us for a webinar presented by former Federal Trade Commission (FTC) senior staff and other WilmerHale attorneys about what to expect from the FTC given new leadership at the agency and potential priorities during the second Trump administration. Our attorneys will provide perspectives related to antitrust and competition, privacy and data security, and consumer protection and how approaches taken under Chair Lina Khan’s leadership and developments over the past year may influence what happens going forward at the agency.

This program will feature WilmerHale Partners Frank Gorman, Jennifer Milici and Kirk Nahra, along with Special Counsel Arianna Evers and Senior Associate Ali Jessani.

Topics include:

  • Leadership changes—including the elevation of Andrew Ferguson to Chair—and how they may influence enforcement priorities at the agency
  • The FTC’s likely approach to mergers under the new administration, including the likelihood of changes to the Merger Guidelines or to remedies
  • How the FTC is likely to view “unfair methods of competition” enforcement in the new administration
  • Whether the FTC’s aggressive use of its unfairness and rulemaking authorities, including in privacy and data security cases, will continue under new leadership
  • How the FTC will address currently enacted and pending rules relating to consumer protection, such as the Negative Option Rule and proposed Junk Fees Rule
  • How the FTC might address potential AI consumer and competition harms

During the webinar, participants will have the opportunity to contribute questions online. CLE credit will be provided.

*CLE credit is not available for those who watch a recording of the webinar.
