For the third straight year, WilmerHale has been named among the Top Ten Family Friendly Firms overall in the industry. Additionally, the firm was recognized as a Top Five Family Friendly Firm in New York and in Washington DC.
The rankings are conducted by the Yale Law Women (YLW) at Yale Law School, an organization aimed at helping women progress in the field of law. WilmerHale has ranked in the Top Ten in seven of the last eight years. The firm's parental leave and bonuses and billing policies were also singled out for recognition in this year's report.
YLW conducts the annual study to assess law firms' commitment to family friendly policies and procedures and to better understand the efforts they make to recruit, retain and advance women in the legal profession. The organization reviewed data on 68 law firms from their US offices for 2015.
The study reviewed options for part-time and flex-time; parental leave offered and how much it was used; gender equity balance in partnership, counsel and associate positions; the factors and expectations for bonuses and billing; and professional development programs offered. The Top Ten firms scored the highest overall on these metrics.
Of the 68 firms reviewed, the study found that 45% of associates were women and 21% of partners were women.
