On June 7, Seth Waxman was honored at the annual Chambers USA Awards for Excellence for his outstanding contribution to the legal profession. He was one of only two to receive the exclusive Outstanding Achievement Award.
Waxman, a former Solicitor General, was recognized by Chambers as one of the finest appellate lawyers in the United States. With an impressive list of more than 60 Supreme Court appearances, his work on some of the most important legal issues of the era has also established him as a leading light in the American justice system. His career includes many successful, groundbreaking arguments for historic cases including Boumediene v. Bush and Roper v. Simmons, as well as high-profile commercial appeals for clients like Disney, ABC, JPMorgan Chase, Monsanto, Medtronic, and AT&T.
In announcing the Outstanding Achievement Award, Chambers described Waxman as “the Michael Jordan of lawyers” and “a startlingly good advocate.” Over his 35 years of practice, clients ranging from private individuals to multinational corporations have benefited from his tremendous intelligence, outstanding work ethic and legendary rapport with the courts.
