Firm Earns 100 Percent Rating in 2013 Corporate Equality Index

Firm News

WilmerHale earned a 100 percent rating in the 2013 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), an annual survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC). This is the fifth consecutive year WilmerHale has received a perfect score on the survey, which identifies the best places to work for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality. Nearly 900 private employers were rated in the 2013 CEI, 141 of which were law firms. The legal industry was the top industry for employers that rated 100 percent.

“We are proud to have once again been named one of HRC’s Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality,” said Jonathan Shapiro, former partner and co-chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee. “WilmerHale’s continued success on the CEI speaks to our commitment to diversity and inclusion. WilmerHale will always stand with those in the business and legal communities who share our fundamental values of fairness, inclusion and social justice.”

The HRC’s CEI report provides an in-depth analysis and rating of large US employers and their policies and practices pertinent to LGBT employees. WilmerHale’s commitment to its LGBT workers—demonstrated through its policies, benefits and practices—earned its perfect score.
