Attorney News

WilmerHale is proud to announce that Michael A. Greenop has been appointed as a Co-Chair of the Task Forces of the Hague Court of Arbitration for Aviation (The Hague CAA). Mr. Greenop was a key contributor and the Rules Standing Committee Coordinator during the drafting of The Hague CAA Arbitration Rules. WilmerHale’s International Arbitration Practice Chair, Gary Born, is a member of the Rules Standing Committee.

The Hague CAA is an independent and specialised dispute resolution centre tailored for the aviation industry. Its Arbitration Rules and Mediation Rules are the result of collaboration by senior aviation legal and technical experts, together with experienced arbitration and mediation professionals. The Hague CAA also offers parties vetted lists of experienced arbitration and aviation experts to serve as neutrals and experts in disputes. This can be invaluable in aviation disputes, where the technical intricacies often demand decision-makers familiar with the industry. These distinctive features set The Hague CAA apart from other arbitral institutions around the world when it comes to resolving aviation disputes.

Mr. Greenop has authored an FAQ which aims to provide a comprehensive guide to The Hague CAA and its arbitration and mediation services. It is intended to serve as a practical resource for aviation industry stakeholders considering arbitration or other alternative dispute resolution methods.
