Partner Peggy Otum has been honored with Diversity Journal’s 2022 Black Leadership award. The publication showcases and honors individuals who are trailblazers in their field, mentor others and promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace and community.
Profiles in Diversity Journal is a quarterly magazine that spotlights, promotes and supports individuals in underrepresented groups for their contributions to their respective fields. In this issue, Diversity Journal profiled 53 individuals to recognize and celebrate the achievements of its third group of Black Leaders.
Otum represents clients in high-stakes environmental matters involving crisis response/risk management, enforcement defense, litigation, and matters at the intersection of environmental protection, racial equity, and corporate governance. She holds several firm leadership roles, including serving as chair of the firm’s Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Practice.
“My unique profile in the law firm industry is not lost on me,” Otum says in her profile. “From my humble roots in Canada to becoming the chair of a practice group at a preeminent law firm is an achievement that is immensely humbling and provides a platform to champion efforts to increase diversity in the legal field.”
