The Women in White Collar Defense Association (WWCDA) has named Partner Jamie Gorelick a recipient of the Laurie A. Miller Leadership Award for the Advancement of Women in White Collar Defense. Having served in both the public and private sectors, Gorelick, who chairs the firm’s Regulatory and Government Affairs Department and co-chairs the Crisis Management and Strategic Response Group, is one of the nation’s most distinguished and well-known litigators. Her representation of high-profile corporations and individuals throughout her storied career is reminiscent of Laurie Miller’s groundbreaking work in white collar defense.
Founded in 1999, the WWCDA aims to address the glaring gender divide in white collar practice by providing women with educational programs and business development opportunities. Former WilmerHale partner and Massachusetts Superior Court Justice Karen Green is one of the organization’s founding members.
Karen P. Seymour, General Counsel of Goldman Sachs and the recipient of the 2020 Laurie A. Miller Leadership Award, announced Gorelick as the 2021 recipient at a virtual award gala on December 7th. WilmerHale Co-Managing Partner Susan Murley and Google Chief Legal Officer Kent Walker introduced her.
