WilmerHale and Jay Holtmeier were mentioned in a Global Investigations Review article for being atop an elite group of law firms that have handled the most Foreign Corrupt Practices Act settlements in the last 10 years.
GIR reported that WilmerHale handled 11 settlements during that period, sharing the lead position with one other firm. “The data shows that two thirds of FCPA settlements in the last 10 years have been handled by an elite group of law firms,” GIR said. “Overall, 15 law firms negotiated over 100 foreign bribery resolutions with US authorities… WilmerHale's statistics received a huge boost in the summer of 2016, when between June and August the firm helped resolve four FCPA cases in a row: LATAM, Johnson Controls, Analogic and Key Energy Services.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Holtmeier, a New York-based WilmerHale partner who co-leads the firm’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and Anti-Corruption Group was, with five cases, among the top nine lawyers who handled the most settlements, GIR said.
