WilmerHale is pleased to announce that investment fund lawyers Steven Giordano and Omar Hemady have joined the firm’s Investment Management Practice and Securities Department as partners in our Boston office.
Messrs. Giordano and Hemady, previously partners at another major firm in Boston, focus their practice on the structuring and formation of private investment funds, including hedge, credit, private-equity and real-estate funds. They serve as counsel to fund sponsors on a full spectrum of strategic matters, including structuring and governance, as well as transactional matters such as seed capital arrangements, acquisitions and strategic equity investments.

Well known in hedge fund and private equity circles, Mr. Giordano has been recognized or ranked in numerous publications, including Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA and Legal 500 US. He has been practicing law for more than 20 years and has a foundational background in taxation, as well as fund structuring and securities law.
Mr. Giordano received his JD from Boston University of Law in 1997 and his ML (Taxation) from Boston University in 2001. He earned his undergraduate degree from Boston College in 1993. Prior to law school, he was a certified public accountant with Price Waterhouse in Chicago.
Mr. Hemady, who has worked closely with Mr. Giordano over the course of his career, also focuses his practice on formation and structuring of private funds and related transactional matters. His work as an investment management attorney has garnered him recognition by Chambers USA for the last five years.
Mr. Hemady earned his JD from Boston College Law School in 2007 and his undergraduate degree from College of Holy Cross in 2002.
