The Washington Business Journal has recognized WilmerHale as a top Corporate Philanthropist, showcasing the firm as one of the most philanthropic companies in the Washington DC metro area. Companies are ranked by the total number of 2018 pro bono and volunteer hours, and donations by dollar amount.

WilmerHale strongly believes that lawyers and staff have a responsibility to help strengthen underserved communities through pro bono representation and public service. The firm operates under a structured philanthropic model to better concentrate resources and time to local communities, including financial support, pro bono legal representation, in-kind donations, matching gift programs and volunteer service.
