WilmerHale Counsel Shirley X. Li Cantin was recognized by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (MLW) at its Excellence in the Law event held on May 2 in Boston. The annual event accompanies the MLW Excellence in the Law issue, which recognizes a wide range of accomplishments in the legal community. Cantin was named as an Up & Coming Lawyer, which identifies and honors rising stars of the Massachusetts legal community—attorneys who have been members of the bar for 10 years or less and have already distinguished themselves in their practice.
In her MLW profile, Cantin highlighted some of her pro bono and community outreach work as well her most notable accomplishments and awards. She also noted the importance of diversity, inclusion and giving back. “I mentor our younger attorneys, and work hard to foster an inclusive environment,” Cantin said. Providing advice and drawing on her career so far, Cantin said that the strengths in her leadership lie in her “ability to connect with people, build trust and empower others to take risks and shine.”
Cantin is based in Boston and is a member of WilmerHale’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice, with her practice focusing on patent litigation and complex commercial disputes.
