Partner Lauren Moore spoke at the American Bar Association’s (ABA) 2024 May Tax Meeting in Washington, D.C. on May 3, on a panel titled “Does the Civil Rights Act of 1866 Prevent Charities from Advancing Civil Rights?” The panel examined the recent wave of reverse discrimination lawsuits under the Civil Rights Act of 1866, and the legality of various grantmaking and philanthropic efforts aimed at remedying race discrimination and advancing equity.
