During this program, WilmerHale partners Michael Dawson and Michael Held, with Tiffany J. Smith as moderator, will discuss how banking regulators are approaching cryptocurrencies, including Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and the provision of crypto-related services by banks.
The panelists will discuss:
- the overall approach to crypto by banking regulators, including the Federal Reserve, the Office of the Comptroller of Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the New York Department of Financial Services;
- the status of CBDC experiments and prospects for a CBDC in the United States; and
- risk management expectations for banks providing crypto-related services.
