The YSIAC Mumbai Workshop 2018 examines the essential aspects of document production and management in international arbitration. All young practitioners find themselves digging through mountains of documents in search of evidence to support their client's claims as well as filtering through documents provided by the opposing party. This workshop delves into the issues surrounding document production including, asking your client the right questions before and during the arbitration, analyzing the relevance and materiality of documents when crafting and responding to document requests in the context of a Redfern Schedule, and dealing with damaging and confidential documents.
During the course of the YSIAC Mumbai Workshop 2018, Gary Born, President of the SIAC Court of Arbitration, and other leading international arbitration practitioners will share their insights, best practices and tips for obtaining and disclosing documents to enhance the efficiency of the document production process. The event will culminate in the simulation of a procedural hearing on document requests based on a realistic case scenario, which will not only equip participants with the requisite knowledge of the procedural and substantive aspects of document production, but also develop their oral advocacy skills.
Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP Senior Associate Dharshini Prasad will serve as respondent and respondent's counsel during Session II: Hearing on Document Requests – Oral Submissions.
