This interactive program, hosted by the American Bar Association, will review the most significant changes in the US antitrust agencies' revised IP guidelines of January 2017 and the updated Canadian Intellectual Property Enforcement Guidelines of 2016, and then offer a practitioner's “how-to” guide for advising clients on the critical antitrust aspects of IP matters, including: exclusivity, non-competition covenants, cross-licensing, refusals to license, settlements, negotiation strategies for licensors and licensees, and conclude with a discussion of notable Canada-US cross-border enforcement differences. WilmerHale Partner Hartmut Schneider will speak on this panel.
