WilmerHale Receives Pro Bono Innovator Award for Outstanding and Creative Pro Bono Contributions

  • 3.26.2008

The Medical-Legal Partnership for Children (MLPC) at Boston Medical Center honored WilmerHale with its Pro Bono Innovator Award at its “Healthy Kids Legal Network Breakfast” on March 26 at the Boston Bar Association. A panel of independent judges selected WilmerHale as the recipient of this year’s award based on the firm’s outstanding pro bono contributions to that organization.

The MLPC benefits from the firm’s recently implemented Pickering Fellowship program in which WilmerHale associates spend six months each lending their skills to a legal service provider on a pro bono basis. Associate David Giordano is currently working with the MLPC and will continue there until the completion of his Fellowship in July. Click here to learn more about the Pickering Fellowship program.

The MLPC seeks to cultivate medical-legal partnerships in various clinical settings nationwide by providing technical assistance and funding to burgeoning partnership sites and leading the Medical-Legal Partnership Network as it works to simultaneously transform healthcare for vulnerable populations and the service delivery model of legal aid to improve the health and well-being of families.
