WilmerHale Named an “FCPA Powerhouse” by Law360

  • 6.10.2013
Law360 has named WilmerHale one of 10 “FCPA Powerhouse” firms nationwide. This honor follows Main Justice’s recognition of WilmerHale as the “FCPA Practice of the Year,” and the ranking of WilmerHale FCPA team members in Chambers and other guides. In selecting the top 10, Law360 considered factors including the number of attorneys working on FCPA matters and their contributions to this developing area of law, including work on landmark FCPA cases, as well as client representations and outcomes.

As stated by Law360, the top 10 selected “have been proactive, helping to design and implement narrowly tailored compliance programs and winning favorable results in potentially damaging cases and have bolstered international practice groups as foreign countries ramp up anti-bribery enforcement.”

WilmerHale’s FCPA group, which is part of the firm’s investigations and criminal litigation practice, includes more than 40 experienced anti-corruption lawyers, regularly counseling over 60 US and non-US companies—across a wide variety of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and medical device, defense, technology, media, and natural resources. The group led by partners Roger Witten, Kimberly Parker, Jay Holtmeier and Erin Sloane provide counsel on how to develop effective anti-corruption compliance programs, how to avoid such problems and how to deal with potential problems when they arise. The firm currently has approximately two dozen enforcement matters pending with the DOJ, SEC and World Bank.

In April of this year Main Justice also awarded Partner Roger Witten with its “Best FCPA Lawyers Distinguished Service Awards.” Witten is one of several individuals honored with the “Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Master” award.
