Randall Lee Named Star Lateral of the Year by The American Lawyer Magazine

Randall Lee has been named a 'Star Lateral of the Year' by The American Lawyer. Lee, a high-profile securities enforcement and white-collar lawyer and former SEC regional director in Los Angeles, joined the firm in September and currently leads WilmerHale's expansion into Los Angeles. He's one of only 14 lawyers in the nation selected as a 'Star Lateral.' Lee's 2007 announcement regarding where he would return to private practice, following his departure from the SEC, was highly anticipated. In September the Los Angeles Daily Journal reported that “Lee is an attractive catch because he also has top experience at the SEC.... we're in an era where people with high-profile SEC experience are commanding a lot of respect in the legal market."
The American Lawyer reported that Lee “achieved notable victories during his six-year tenure with the SEC, including the first-ever jury verdict against a mutual fund executive in a market timing case. More than 35 firms expressed interest in Lee, but WilmerHale convinced him to launch the firm’s Los Angeles office.”
