WilmerHale Partner Ken Salazar was presented the highly prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by the Colorado Conservation Trust at its annual Q for Conservation and George E. Cranmer Awards ceremony held September 12 in Denver, Colorado. At the ceremony, which is considered Colorado's premier celebration of land conservation, he was recognized for his long-standing dedication to land conservation and preservation, and to the issues surrounding farmers, ranchers and rural communities.
Salazar was also honored this week with the Award of Excellence by the Colorado chapter of the American Constitution Society for his distinguished career in both private practice and public service. The Award of Excellence was presented by former Colorado Governor William Ritter during an awards ceremony earlier this week.
Salazar was appointed as the 50th United States Secretary of the Interior and served in that position from January 2009-2013. Prior to his role as Secretary of the Interior, he served as Colorado's 35th Senator, as Colorado Attorney General, and as the Director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources under Governor Roy Romer.
Salazar joined WilmerHale in June 2013 as a partner in the firm's Regulatory and Government Affairs Department, as a member of the Strategic Response and Counseling and Environmental Practices, and as a member of the Energy and Cleantech Group.
