Boston Bar Association Announces 2006-2007 Public Interest Leaders

  • 9.15.2006

Jeffrey Gleason has been selected by the Boston Bar Association (BBA) as a member of the BBA's Public Interest Leadership Program (PILP) for the 2006-2007 year. The lawyers, who spend a minimum of 25 hours a month on public service and leadership development activities, were nominated by their employers, which include law firms, legal service agencies, and the Office of the Attorney General.

Highlighting the important role that lawyers can play as civic leaders, this highly selective twelve-month program honors lawyers who have been in practice for less than a decade and have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment and leadership in public service, pro bono and organized bar activities. Members of this program join a growing network of alumni who are dedicated to public service and making the legal climate more supportive of pro bono and community service. Each PILP class develops its own programs to share with the legal community the importance of public service and civic participation, and to address systemic inequities in access to justice and the delivery of legal services.
