  • 8.24.2010

WilmerHale Co-Managing Partner Bill Lee has been named a “Most Admired Attorney” by Law360, a newswire for legal professionals. Lee was selected by Law360 readers for his success rate in the court room as an IP litigator but those who know and work closely with him also reflect on his abilities outside of the courtroom, as a leader, mentor and friend.

The article summarized one of Lee’s well known victories in the Broadcom Corp v. Qualcomm Inc. litigation battle, as well as others, and also included comments from competitors, mentees and friends.

Jeffrey C. Morgan, an intellectual property partner at Troutman Sanders LLP and a former WilmerHale attorney commented that, “His ability to stay on top of a very large docket of very complex patent cases all at once is superhuman. I don't know how he does it. He does it with such flair and distinction and such seeming ease, it's awe inspiring.”

Ben Stern, former WilmerHale associate, now associate at Proskauer Rose LLP said that, “He has this force of personality, and the way he treats people, it makes people want to be a part of his team and do their best for him.”

Friend and WilmerHale colleague of many years Partner James Burling summarized by saying, “He matches this very successful and demanding legal practice with the management of the firm, which is quite a trick in and of itself. As a colleague and friend of his for 30-plus years now, he just finds time to be a good friend and colleague to a tremendous number of people, and mentor a tremendous number of people.”
