Ambassador Charlene Barshefsky Honored as one of the Decade’s Most Influential Lawyers by The National Law Journal

In putting together the list, NLJ’s editors selected 40 attorneys in a various key legal areas whose work between Jan. 1, 2000, and Dec. 31, 2009, “was so consequential that it helped to push the profession, an industry or a practice area substantially forward.” The list spans law firms, academia, government and advocacy groups, and the categories covered are: antitrust; appellate; bankruptcy; civil rights; corporate; energy and environmental; in-house; intellectual property; labor and employment; legal education; litigation; and regulatory.
In addition to Ambassador Barshefsky, former WilmerHale Partner, John Payton was also included on the list and noted for his work in the Civil Rights category. Currently serving as director-counsel and president of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Payton is highlighted as “as one of the nation’s most accomplished civil rights attorneys.”
