WilmerHale Honored as a White-Collar Practice Group of the Year by Law360

Law360 recognized WilmerHale in the White-Collar category of its 2023 Practice Groups of the Year awards, which honor the attorney teams behind litigation wins and major deals that resonated throughout the legal industry this past year.
The profile accompanying the recognition credits the depth and diverse experiences of attorneys in the firm’s White-Collar Defense and Investigations practice as one of the factors for the practice groups continued success.
"I think what really sets our group apart is our cross-disciplinary strength," said the group’s co-chair, Kimberly Parker. WilmerHale's white-collar attorneys have strong subject-matter knowledge and know how to get results in all types of proceedings.
The firm represented major clients in headline-grabbing matters in 2023, including mining giant Glencore in resolving bribery and market manipulation charges and Alameda Research's former CEO through criminal proceedings over FTX's collapse.
Parker characterized the Glencore matters as "the most significant cross-border enforcement action" in recent years. The firm's representation of the company "is a terrific example of the breadth and approach of our white-collar group," she said.
Peter Neiman, who was part of the team that represented Caroline Ellison in connection with the government's investigation into the collapse of Alameda Research, said a certain type of skill was required as Ellison faced a fast-moving inquiry from the government. The team and strategy had to be put together quickly.
Ellison "found herself right in the middle of one of the largest financial scandals of the last 20 years," Neiman said. The team representing Ellison had to "be very nimble."
