- 6.27.2022
A recent survey conducted by Law360 and Major Lindsey & Africa placed WilmerHale among the top ten “Most-Admired Firms” based on its work environment and culture. The inaugural Law Firm Culture Survey asked attorneys from 361 firms to describe the culture at their own firms and others, and identify five law firms whose cultures they most admired. According to Law360, the firms named to the list are “epitomized by sound financial management, high performance expectations for their lawyers and a focus on client and public service.”
The article specifically notes WilmerHale’s reputation for attracting some of the most gifted legal talent. Speaking with Law360, David Bowker, chair of the firm’s International Litigation Practice, attributed the firm’s appeal to its emphasis on innovation and its history of taking on challenging cases.
When discussing the firm’s high expectations for its attorneys David said, “It's a thinking profession, and so the firm has always valued in its people independent thought, careful thought, careful written and oral expression of intellectually compelling arguments."
The firm also received high ratings for diversity, work-life balance and mentorship.
Commenting on the evolution of the firm’s culture in response to shifts in the workforce at large David said, "We're working hard to be as attractive to young lawyers today as we were to young lawyers 50 years ago, and that requires change, adaptation, self-reflection."
