Craig Goldblatt Elected as National Bankruptcy Conference Conferee

The National Bankruptcy Conference (NBC) announced today the election of Partner Craig Goldblatt to membership as a Conferee. The NBC is a nonprofit, non-partisan, self-supporting organization of approximately 60 lawyers, law professors and bankruptcy judges whose primary purpose is to advise Congress on the operation of bankruptcy and related laws and any proposed changes to those laws.
In this role, Goldblatt “will broaden and deepen our collective experience and enhance our ability to continue to perform our key non-partisan advisory role for Members of Congress and their staff,” said Jane Vris, NBC Chair.
“I am honored to have been elected as a Conferee and look forward to contributing to the NBC's valuable mission,” said Goldblatt.
Goldblatt, who joined the firm in 1994 and is a member of the firm's Management Committee, is an experienced bankruptcy litigator focused on complex bankruptcy disputes and bankruptcy appeals. The core of his practice has been protecting the interests of secured creditors, financial institutions and insurance companies in bankruptcy-related disputes, though he has also represented leading technology, transportation and communications industry clients in bankruptcy matters. He has argued three bankruptcy cases in the Supreme Court of the United States, participated actively in several other Supreme Court bankruptcy matters, and regularly handles bankruptcy disputes at trial and on appeal. Goldblatt has also developed extensive experience on consumer bankruptcy matters, representing several major mortgage servicers, holders of credit card and other unsecured debt, and bankruptcy trustees in a variety of regulatory investigations, bankruptcy disputes and appeals.
The NBC was formed in the 1930's at the request of Congress to assist in the drafting of major Depression-era bankruptcy law amendments, ultimately resulting in the Chandler Act of 1938.
