The Energy Bar Association's Annual Meeting will feature two half-day seminars on significant federal and state issues. These will address issues of critical importance to today’s energy practitioners.

WilmerHale Special Counsel Bruce Fekrat will be moderating a panel titled "How to Develop and Implement a 'CFTC' Compliance Program," which will the essentials for developing and implementing a compliance program to address Dodd-Frank’s impacts on the energy industry. Swap dealers have significant compliance responsibilities under Dodd-Frank, but end-users have compliance obligations as well. Panelists will describe which types of transactions and products are subject to new
regulation and provide an overview of what different entities need to do to comply. They will outline changes to standard industry trading documentation and how to comply with position limits, reporting, and recordkeeping requirements, among other key topics.
