Arbitrator Appointment & Challenges in Practice: A VIAC Perspective

Harvard International Arbitration Law Students Association and Harvard Central and Southeast Europe Law Students Association will co-host the Lunchtime Talk, "Arbitrator Appointment & Challenges in Practice: A VIAC Perspective." The event will be moderated by Mr. Franz T. Schwarz, Partner/Vice-Chair of WilmerHale's International Arbitration Practice Group and Vice-President of the VIAC Board. Speakers are Dr. Alice Fremuth-Wolf (VIAC Secretary-General), Dr Elisabeth Vanas-Metzler (VIAC Deputy Secretary-General) and Ms. Ema Potocnik (VIAC Legal Counsel).

The speakers will discuss practical examples of challenges related to the appointment of arbitrators from both an institutional and practitioner perspective. In addition, they will provide useful insights and tips for young professionals, particularly women, who are entering the field of international arbitration. There will also be opportunity for participants to engage directly and ask the panel questions.

The event will take place on Friday November 19, 2021, 12:30–1:30 pm (ET) and is open to members of both associations and the general public.
