Vandana Apte
Associate
Vandana Apte focuses on intellectual property matters, including patent law work for pharmaceutical and biotech companies. She first joined WilmerHale as a summer associate in 2022.
Ms. Apte built her legal experience as a legal intern in the pharmaceutical industry, a student attorney at the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau in Massachusetts, and a legal intern at Pregnancy Justice in New York. She also has a wealth of technical experience, having worked as a systems genetics researcher at New York University Langone Health—where she designed an automated process for mass-testing COVID-19 patient samples—as well as at a genetics laboratory at the Waksman Institute of Microbiology at Rutgers University. She has also worked as a research assistant at multiple Harvard University Medical School labs and has co-authored two articles published in academic journals based on her research.
Ms. Apte also maintains a strong pro bono practice, with a focus on reproductive rights and family defense.
