Seferina Berch
Counsel
Seferina Berch focuses her practice on securities-related investigations and enforcement actions brought by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the Department of Justice (DOJ) and other state and federal regulators. She regularly assists with the representation of financial institutions, investment advisors, public companies, and senior officers in connection with investigations brought by the SEC, FINRA, and DOJ, including managing e-discovery, conducting witness interviews, and preparing internal and government-facing presentations. Ms. Berch also has experience investigating allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation.
Ms. Berch maintains an active pro bono practice and has represented individual clients in partnership with Human Rights First, Her Justice, and the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF), as well as several non-profit organizations in successful nationwide impact litigation.
Professional Activities
At WilmerHale, Ms. Berch serves on the New York Diversity Committee and the Associate Communications Task Force. Ms. Berch also serves on the Associate Board of the New York Common Pantry (NYCP), one of New York City’s largest community-based food pantries.
Past Experience
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Berch was an associate in the Securities and Enforcement Regulatory Group of a global law firm. At her prior firm, Ms. Berch served as the co-chair of the New York Diversity Committee, the associate deputy New York co-chair of the firm-wide Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and as a member of the New York Associates Relations Committee. During law school, Ms. Berch served as an intern to the Honorable Evan J. Wallach of the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
