Michael S. Crafts
Senior Associate
Michael Crafts focuses his practice on complex litigation and investigations. He has represented major financial, pharmaceutical, and technology companies in civil litigation, government investigations, and internal investigations. His experience spans all phases of litigation, including pretrial proceedings, trial, and appeal. He has drafted dispositive motions and appellate briefs in state court and federal court, including at the merits stage of the US Supreme Court; prepared fact and expert witnesses for trial; taken depositions; and presented on behalf of clients to the DOJ and SEC.
In 2023, Mr. Crafts served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, where he was responsible for prosecuting several hundred criminal cases in Malden and Cambridge District Courts. During his six-month rotation, Mr. Crafts first-chaired jury and bench trials, securing guilty verdicts for a variety of offenses, and successfully argued dozens of motions, including motions to suppress and motions to dismiss.
Mr. Crafts previously clerked for the Honorable Michael Boudin of the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the Honorable F. Dennis Saylor IV of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
During law school, Mr. Crafts worked as a summer associate at WilmerHale and interned in the National Security and Cybercrime Section of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York. Before law school, he served as an operations research analyst for the United States Air Force after receiving a full-tuition, merit-based scholarship for his undergraduate studies from the Department of Defense.
