Hillary Chutter-Ames has represented clients in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels. Prior to rejoining the firm, Ms. Chutter-Ames was a law clerk for the Honorable Bradley N. Garcia of the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. She also clerked for the Honorable Jed S. Rakoff of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. She previously practiced as a staff attorney for a Chicago-based nonprofit law and policy center working on policing and public safety issues. In law school, she represented clients as a student attorney for an appellate civil rights clinic and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Northwestern University Law Review. She has successfully argued before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Chutter-Ames also maintains an active pro bono practice focused on rule of law, public safety, and reproductive justice matters.
