Ariel Dobkin
Counsel
Ariel Dobkin represents clients in a broad range of complex regulatory matters and in government inquiries, internal investigations, and crisis management matters involving intersecting legal, public policy and media dimensions that frequently require a coordinated strategic response. She has counseled a variety of technology and financial sector clients—from large technology companies to cryptocurrency startups—on many of the most challenging cybersecurity, privacy and consumer protection issues they face in the current regulatory environment.
Ms. Dobkin represents clients before federal, state, and international regulators on a broad range of privacy and data security issues, helping them navigate investigations brought under privacy laws, unfair and deceptive acts and practices statutes, and data breach notification statutes, among others. She has negotiated resolutions for a variety of clients facing investigations by state attorneys general. She also has extensive experience advising clients in sensitive internal investigations involving cybersecurity compliance, incident response management, privacy, content-related issues, compliance with the Foreign Agents Registration Act, and other challenges.
In her robust congressional investigations practice, Ms Dobkin has represented tech companies, government contractors, financial institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and others in US Senate and House investigations, as well as before state legislatures, and has prepared chief executive officers and other senior executives to testify before Congress and to appear in briefings or meetings with members of the House and Senate and their staff.
Ms. Dobkin’s pro bono practice is varied and includes corporate, privacy, and cybersecurity counseling for nonprofit organizations; visa and green card applications; and compassionate release petitions.
