Antitrust and Competition
On March 29, 2010, the European Commission granted conditional phase I clearance for Cisco's proposed acquisition of Tandberg, a global leader in video communications based in Oslo, Norway, and New York. Within an hour of the Commission issuing its press statement, the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice issued its own release confirming that, in light of the commitments Cisco had given to the European Commission, it was not challenging the merger.

WilmerHale represented Cisco before both the Antitrust Division and the European Commission. In Brussels, Partners Sven Völcker and John Ratliff led the work, assisted by Counsel Cormac O'Daly, and Senior Associates Alexander Israel and Roberto Grasso.
