WilmerHale was recognized as the 2006 Law Firm Pro Bono Award winner at the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Access to Justice Awards luncheon on Friday, March 24, as part of the MBA’s Annual Conference 2006. The annual luncheon recognizes outstanding members of the legal community who have made significant contributions to the profession and their communities through their volunteer and pro bono efforts.
The MBA’s Law Firm Pro Bono Award is bestowed upon a law firm, composed of two or more attorneys, that has provided notable pro bono work within Massachusetts. WilmerHale has been selected as the 2006 Law Firm Pro Bono Award recipient for continuing to support and encourage its attorneys to represent indigent clients in the most dire of circumstances—including the firm’s work on behalf of Guantanamo detainees from Bosnia and its successful representation in the Rosie D. case of Medicaid-eligible children with serious emotional and psychiatric conditions, who sought necessary mental health care from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
