Franca Harris Gutierrez, partner in WilmerHale’s Regulatory and Government Affairs Department and a member of the Financial Institutions Practice Group, has been selected from a pool of nominees across the country as one of 14 leading law firm rainmakers. Featured in the November/December 2009 issue of Diversity & the Bar, Ms. Gutierrez’s book of business, largely self-generated, benefits from her very capable colleagues and direct sound counsel.
She shares, “Some clients become personal, as well as professional, friends, resulting in deeper relationships. And while tough calls can become that much tougher, that have significant impact on their business, I don’t pull any punches – and it is doubly satisfying to share in their successes.”
This is the third year that Diversity & the Bar, in partnership with Minority Corporate Counsel Association, has featured leading rainmakers across the nation. To be considered for the honor, each attorney must maintain a regular book of business reaching or exceeding $2 million per year.
In 2008, WilmerHale Partner Yoon-Young Lee was included in the list of Leading Rainmakers. Most recently, The National Law Journalrecognized WilmerHale as one of Washington DC’s most diverse law firms. The firm has also been repeatedly recognized as a leading law firm for women.
