On April 9, Partners Mark Flanagan and Mark Selwyn were each named to the Los Angeles Daily Journal’s exclusive list of the “50 Leading IP Litigators in California.”
Flanagan, who joined the firm in 2006, was noted in the Daily Journal’s feature for his recent $253 million settlement for InterDigital Communications in a patent license dispute against Nokia Corp. The feature also recognizes Selwyn’s leading role in defending a seven-patent case brought by Qualcomm against Broadcom in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Selwyn, who started his career with WilmerHale in 1994, moved from the firm’s Boston office to help open and build its Palo Alto office.
Since opening in 2005, the firm’s Palo Alto office has grown to over 30 lawyers in practices including corporate, technology transactions, intellectual property litigation and counseling, securities enforcement and litigation, white collar and antitrust. The Palo Alto office is deeply integrated into the firm’s intellectual property litigation practice, which was recently honored by The American Lawyer as the “IP Litigation Department of the Year” in its prestigious biennial contest. The firm also recently opened a second California office in Los Angeles.
