On October 29, a team of WilmerHale attorneys, staff, family and friends braved the chilly, rainy weather to participate in the 25th Annual Whitman-Walker AIDS Walk Washington. The firm raised more than $17,800.
Funds raised through the firm’s efforts contribute to the Legal Community AIDS Walk Task Force, which directly benefits Whitman-Walker Health's Legal Services Program. Last year, Whitman-Walker provided legal support to more than 2,400 clients living with HIV and AIDS through a small, dedicated staff and a network of volunteer attorneys, as well as through government agencies.
“This event gives WilmerHale the opportunity to lend a hand to our community by providing legal services to those living with HIV and AIDS in the Washington DC metro area,” says Staff Attorney Keith Spadafora, who, with Conflicts Attorney Michael Misiewicz, led the WilmerHale team this year. “At the same time, it’s an opportunity to come together as colleagues outside the office.”
Adds Misiewicz: “Without all of those who participated and donated, we wouldn't have been able to achieve such amazing success. It shows that our colleagues can really pull together to demonstrate to the community what we already know—that WilmerHale is an integral part of the communities in which we work.”
