Jeremy Moorehouse, a leading financial services, securities, digital assets and market structure attorney, has rejoined WilmerHale as a partner in its Washington office.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jeremy back to the firm,” said WilmerHale Managing Partner Anjan Sahni. “His addition further bolsters a storied broker-dealer group and strong digital assets practice.”

Jeremy first joined WilmerHale as a summer associate in 2009 and was Counsel when he left in 2021 to serve in a series of inhouse executive roles, most recently as Chief Legal Officer at digital asset wealth management platform Lionsoul Global.

“Jeremy’s inhouse experience leading FinTechs, exchanges, broker-dealers and investment advisers complements the extensive capabilities of our financial services and securities teams,” said Andre Owens, Chair of WilmerHale’s Broker-Dealer Compliance and Regulation Practice, and Co-Chair of the firm’s Securities and Financial Regulation Practice. “We are excited to have him back at the firm.”

“As the Trump Administration seeks to make the United States a world leader in digital assets, there have been significant and swift changes in the regulatory and policy environment,” said Tiffany J. Smith, Co-Chair, Blockchain & Cryptocurrency Working Group. “These changes create new opportunities for clients, and Jeremy has the experience to help them navigate and fully capitalize on the Administration’s dynamic approach.”

With 11 previous years at WilmerHale and his extensive background serving crypto and financial services companies as general counsel, Jeremy provides a unique perspective for clients navigating complex regulatory, compliance, operational and enforcement challenges. Jeremy formulates innovative, efficient, and effective strategies, quickly grasping the intricacies of his clients’ businesses and offering actionable advice tailored to their specific needs.

“I am thrilled to be returning to WilmerHale – a firm where I spent the formative years of my career and where I benefitted tremendously from extensive industry expertise and a strong cross-practice approach to serving clients. The firm’s depth and renowned securities and financial services practice is the ideal place for me to embark on the next stage of my career,” said Jeremy.

Jeremy earned his JD from Loyola University Chicago School of Law after completing a BA in Economics at Northwestern.

Jeremy has held several c-suite and senior leadership roles in the crypto and digital assets industry. Prior to his role as Chief Legal Officer of Lionsoul, he was General Counsel of Figure Markets, General Counsel of Slingshot Finance, and Senior Regulatory Strategy Counsel at Kraken Exchange.
