In a recent Cybersecurity Law Report article, WilmerHale Senior Associate Ali Jessani provided key insights on the California Privacy Protection Agency’s (CPPA) proposed regulations for data brokers.

Excerpt: “The Proposed Regs, combined with the CPPA’s recent investigative sweep, however, ‘reinforce that data broker enforcement is an area of priority for the new privacy agency,’ Ali Jessani, an attorney at WilmerHale, told the Cybersecurity Law Report. Thus, data brokers should carefully consider the enforcement risk of noncompliance because, in some ways, brokers are ‘low-hanging fruit for regulators,’ he advised.”
