Bloomberg Law has recognized Partner Nana Wilberforce in its 2024 40 Under 40 annual listing, which highlights the accomplishments of a select group of lawyers who have experienced extraordinary success relatively early in their legal careers. The exclusive list is comprised of “the nation’s most promising young lawyers,” according to the publication.
Nana Wilberforce, who is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, specializes in cartel and price-fixing investigations, with particular expertise navigating industry-leading companies through the Department of Justice Antitrust Division’s Leniency program. Due to the nature of her work, much of what Wilberforce does is confidential, but she has played a role in some of the most significant antitrust matters of recent years, particularly as recent presidential administrations, members of Congress, and state attorneys general have paid increasing attention to antitrust enforcement and policy. Her experience includes novel areas of antitrust enforcement, including labor-related antitrust investigations, ESG-related antitrust inquiries, and work related to information exchanges.
The Bloomberg Law feature accompanying Wilberforce’s recognition describes some of her recent achievements. “I was part of the team who helped secure merger approval for the $26 billion combination of T-Mobile and Sprint,” said Wilberforce. “This work led up to a historic antitrust trial brought by 13 state attorneys general to enjoin the merger that we successfully defended. It was a wonderful transaction to work on because it was particularly consequential to daily life—bringing 5G network access to more Americans.”
Asked what she’s most proud of as a lawyer, Wilberforce told the publication: “I was honored to be selected for the Pickering Fellowship at WilmerHale, which meant that I was able to work full-time for six months at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. It was an incredible experience where I was able to work on the most important civil rights work of our time.”
