Global Investigations Review (GIR) has ranked WilmerHale among the top firms in its annual announcement of the world’s leaders for investigations. The firm ranked third on its annual GIR 30 list, which features the best law firms for complex multijurisdictional corporate investigations.
The winner was announced during the eighth annual GIR Awards in Washington DC on November 17. This year marks the eighth consecutive year the firm has been ranked among the top five on the list.
According to GIR, “One of [WilmerHale’s] most high-profile public clients in recent years is Swiss commodity firm Glencore, represented by Howard Shapiro, Erin Sloane, Kimberly Parker, Stephen Pollard and others. Another headline-grabbing recent engagement saw Boyd Johnson act for a subsidiary of UK bank NatWest in a $35 million guilty plea after the business was found to have violated a 2018 DPA.”
The annual ranking predominantly considers the investigations, resolutions and related trials that a law firm has worked on during the research timeframe. GIR measures firms on their “institutional strengths based on a range of factors – including a firm’s reach, its caseload, appearances before government authorities and more.”
Additionally, GIR named WilmerHale the winner of its “Most Impressive Investigations Practice of the Year.” This is the second year the firm has won this award and the fourth time the firm has been named a finalist for the recognition.
