The Center for Legal Inclusiveness (CLI) has named Counsel Shelby Martin a finalist for the Inclusiveness@Work Award. This award honors individuals and organizations that have taken concrete steps to advance diversity, equity and inclusivity in their workplaces and community.
CLI is a Denver-based non-profit that aims to advance diversity in the legal profession, in part by recognizing and supporting individuals who work to create cultures of inclusion. At WilmerHale, Shelby plays an active role in recruiting, retaining and mentoring diverse attorneys as co-chair of the firm’s Summer Program. She also maintains an active pro bono practice and is particularly committed to representing indigent clients in immigration proceedings.
In addition to her involvement at WilmerHale, Shelby is member of Colorado’s Black Bar Association, Sam Cary, where she serves as both the Membership Director and Secretary. Her work also extends beyond the legal sphere and into the Denver community. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Colorado I Have a Dream Foundation, a social services organization that provides long-term academic and social mentorship for youth in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods.
Shelby and the other finalists will be recognized on March 5 at CLI’s annual gala, The Ball for All.
